WTO/GATS and Issues of Trade and Cooperation in Chinese Higher Education

Abstract: China became a member of WTO in 2001, but its influence on higher education in China
is rarely discussed. This article mainly tries to describe the possible consequences of commitment
to GATS by developing countries and quality and opportunities of this kind of trade for developing
countries like China. Several good suggestions have been offered as the conclusion.
